C-MAC MicroTechnology designs and manufactures both standard product and custom thick film hybrid electronic modules to withstand the harshest conditions. One of the most extreme environments can be found in the high radiation levels of space where satellite applications require the most robust electronic solutions. C-MAC is a leading supplier of some of the most advanced and sophisticated electronics used in military and commercial satellites, space vehicles and associated support systems.

C-MAC has been supplying Space grade thick film hybrid microcircuits since 1992 into both the US and European markets. Our range of MIL-STD-1553 single and dual transceivers and remote terminals together with custom module packaging solutions are available with full Space qualification.

In March 2007, C-MAC became the first European supplier to offer product qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, the de-facto Space grade qualification for hybrid microcircuits. In addition to the product qualification itself, our state-of-the-art facility in Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom was audited by a team of 6 international representatives of DSCC, NASA, Aerospace Corporation and QinetiQ over a period of 4 days. This world-wide recognised accreditation allows customers to source UK manufactured hybrid microcircuit modules of at least equivalent grade to that available from US suppliers. Over the past 15 years, C-MAC has supplied Space grade product to leading systems manufacturers such as Astrium, EADS, Lockheed Martin, BAe Systems and Boeing Satellite Systems. With Class K qualification, our reputation in this select market segment will continue to grow in the years to come.

Our independently ISO 17025 accredited Test House provides the facility for full environmental testing against IECQ, MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-202 test methods employed for element evaluation as well as completed product qualification. Up-screening of selected passive component and active die lots provides cost effective component selection for high reliability applications.

Radiation Hard Space Grade Products

C-MAC MicroTechnology offers UK assembled, Space grade, radiation hardened monolithic devices and hybrid microcircuit modules for the European, Canadian and Asian markets. C-MAC assembles, tests and qualifies Linear Technology’s rad-hard (RH) die in a new range of package outlines at its plant in Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom. These products incorporates C-MAC’s vast range of microelectronic packaging and test services with Linear’s state-of-the-art portfolio of high performance analogue integrated circuits (ICs). All devices can be offered with qualification to ESCC 9000 (monolithic), ECSS-Q-ST-60-05C CAT 2 (hybrid) procurement specifications or to MIL-PRF-38534 Class H or Class K according to customer requirements.
