The acquisition of a new vibration system in 2010
extended our static load capability from 80kg to
a massive 500kg. This brand new 20kN system
features a shaker with a 51mm travel providing
sine, random, and sine-on-random waveforms.
Further extensions to our capability include EIA-364 accreditation for testing 'ruggedised' electrical connectors such as those used in aerospace, defence and motor-sport applications and also an expanded capability for cold storage testing down to -85°C
As befits our status as a leading-edge test facility, we have gained a uniquely broad range of internationally recognised approvals, including UKAS, BSI, CECC, IECQ and MIL-STDs for environmental testing.
The test facility holds a US Department of Defence Certificate for Independent Laboratory Suitability. We also believe it to be the only European facility to hold this highly stringent approval for US MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-202 test methods simultaneously.
In addition to climatic and dynamic testing we offer comprehensive measurement capability including:
- Voltage measurements in the mV to kV range, for both DC and AC
- Current measurements in the nA to 100 A range, for both DC and AC
- Resistance measurements in the mΩ to GΩ range
- Frequency measurements to 3.0 GHz
- Spectral analysis to 1.5 GHz
- Capacitance measurement from 200 pF to 1.9 F
- Inductance measurement up to 1kH
- Insulation resistance
- Temperature forcing from -65°C to +150°C (environmental test)
